COURSE DESCRIPTION

If you will be taking a trip to a Spanish speaking country then you should know at least some Spanish for your trip. This class will prepare you for the necessary Spanish you need to get by in your travels in a short period of time. Through scenario examples, you will learn essential travel phrases, and the basic vocabulary you need for your trip: greetings, directions, transport, accommodation and eating. It’s also good to know some Spanish for safety reasons. For example, some areas of Latin American countries are not suitable for tourist, so when a local tells you “No Mayas en era dirección, es peligroso!” you can understand what is being said to you (“Don’t go in that direction, it’s dangerous”) and make an informed decision.

This Travel Spanish course focuses less on the rules of grammar and more on the basics of what you need to know to make your vacation a memorable one and feel more confident in your next trip to a Spanish speaking country.

ASSIGNMENTS & COMPLETION CERTIFICATE

The Spanish classes starting in the Fall will take place every Saturday for 4 weeks, from 10:00AM – 3:00PM

There are no pre- and follow-up assignments, but instead you will have weekly homework. The entire course will give you 36 hours, 20 hours will be in-person, and 16 hours will consist of homework.

You will be invited to join Google Classroom 2 weeks before class starts, which is the platform we use for all our classes. Check your spam folder, as invitations to join Google Classroom sometimes end up there. Please make sure you register for the course with a valid email address, since this is where you will receive the invitation. Your email has to be Google compatible, so it’s best to use gmail, outlook, hotmail or yahoo. If you do not receive a notification to join Google Classroom, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact us.

It is NOT possible to receive your certificate early for our Spanish class. This is a 4-week class and certificates will be awarded once class has officially concluded and all assignments have been successfully completed.
