COURSE DESCRIPTION

Embark on a transformative journey through the lens of photography, exploring the Best of California: Los Angeles, Yosemite National Park AND San Francisco! This immersive course blends artistic exploration with cultural immersion, offering a unique opportunity to capture the essence of California’s diverse beauty. You are welcome to use any digital DSLR camera or smart phone (iPhone & Android)
Please note that this class is on the move! It starts in Los Angeles and ends in San Francisco. You should fly into LAX airport and fly out of SFO airport.
This four-day, hands-on introductory digital photography class is designed to empower you with the fundamentals of capturing stunning images. Led by experienced instructors, you’ll delve into the core concepts of photography, from understanding your camera’s settings to mastering composition techniques. You’ll explore topics like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance, learning how to manipulate them to create impactful images. We’ll cover essential composition techniques, including the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing, helping you elevate your visual storytelling. By the end of this immersive course, you’ll gain the confidence to confidently use your camera, understand the technical aspects of photography, and create compelling images that reflect your unique vision. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your existing skills, this course is the perfect stepping stone to unlock your photographic potential.
Some of our activities will include:
– Visiting famous places in L.A, including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Pier, Griffith Observatory and more
– Venturing into the awe-inspiring grandeur of Yosemite National Park
– Exploring iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco
– Touring Alcatraz, the most famous federal prison in US history
– Spending time and photographing Fisherman’s Wharf, the popular waterfront area of San Francisco.
– Riding a streetcar to the famous Pier 39

ASSIGNMENTS & COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
In addition to the in-person meetings, this class will include pre-assignments and post-assignments as part of the 72-hour class.
You will be invited to join Google Classroom about a month before class starts, which is the platform we use for the course. Check your spam folder, as invitations to join Google Classroom sometimes end up there. Please make sure you register for the course with a valid email address, since this is where you will receive the invitation and later, your certificate. Your email has to be Google compatible, so it’s best to use gmail, outlook, hotmail or yahoo. If you do not receive a notification to join Google Classroom, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact us.
The pre-assignments will be posted on Google Classroom 2 weeks before class starts. Make sure you join Google Classroom early and complete the assignments BEFORE coming to class. It will take you approximately 18 hours to complete
The follow-up assignments will be posted on Google Classroom on the weekend of class, and also consist of 18 hours. You must complete them in order to receive your course completion certificate. Course completion certificates will be emailed to you, a few days after the class has officially ended. You will have 3 weeks to complete the assignments. If you need your certificate earlier, please indicate it during the registration process and we will email it to you as soon as you successfully complete all assignments.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance IS MANDATORY all days during the class in California. If you are late or leave early, your will risk not receiving your certificate. Please note, that this is a long weekend intensive class and the days are long. Bring comfortable shoes, appropriate clothing, water & snacks. We expect you to come to class rested and ready to participate, learn and have fun!
